ColorOS 17 AI Features and Capabilities: What Each One Does, Where It Works and Which Phones Get It
ColorOS 17 is OPPO's phone software, unveiled on October 13, 2026, and its headline AI capabilities are: AI Mind Pilot Agent Mode, which works with the files and photos on your phone and completes multi-step tasks using Manus or ChatGPT; AI Photo Agent 2, which edits photos from a text request or a reference image; an upgraded AI Mind Space memory hub; AI Mind Suggest, which brings up travel and day-to-day info before you ask; OSee, a point-and-shoot camera assistant; AI Live Interpreter for translation through earbuds; and AI Call Guard, which flags AI voices and face swaps. Several features are limited by region. ColorOS 17 debuts on the Find X10 series, and the update reaches the Find N6, Find X9, Find X8 and Reno16 phones first, in October 2026.

OPPO says AI features can differ by country, device and software version. Some may arrive in later over-the-air updates rather than at launch.
Privacy: what happens to your data
- Agent Mode works on the phone first. It indexes your files and photos on the device. When a task needs to send something to an outside AI service, it asks for your permission first.
- Private Computing Cloud (PCC). Cloud AI processing is end-to-end encrypted in an environment that OPPO says even OPPO can't access. ColorOS 17 adds post-quantum dual encryption for data moving between the phone and the cloud.
- Transparency Report. A new report shows which AI services were used, when, and what they did. You can view and export it on the phone.

OPPO says the schedule is approximate. Timing varies by model, region and carrier, the order within a month isn't the release order, and carrier-exclusive models follow the carrier's own schedule. Some features need specific hardware, so a phone on the list may not get every AI feature.
What else is new in ColorOS 17 (non-AI)
- Living Flow Design: translucent visuals, fluid animations and buttons that react to touch, plus a clock that moves from the lock screen to the home screen.
- Luminous Rendering Engine: OPPO Lab figures show up to 30% less rendering load and up to 25% less rendering RAM than ColorOS 16.
- Laminar Flow Engine: OPPO reports up to 55% more stable app launches, up to 50% faster Gallery thumbnails and more than 25% more apps kept in the background. It also claims over 90% of the original smoothness after a simulated six years of use.
How to get ColorOS 17
- Check the rollout table above for your model and month.
- When your phone's turn comes, the update arrives over the air. Look for it in your phone's software update settings.
- After updating, look for AI Mind Pilot, AI Photo Agent and OSee. Some AI features need an internet connection and may ask you to sign in with an OPPO account. Agent Mode may also ask for a ChatGPT or Manus sign-in once the free allowance runs out.
