This free finder lists the official base size of every Warhammer 40,000 unit, taken from Games Workshop's Warhammer Event Companion v1.3 Base Size Guide (last updated October 2026). It has 1,083 entries across 29 factions. Search a unit, filter by faction or base type, and see the size in millimetres and inches. The October 2026 update changed one base: the Ork Wazbom Blastajet moved from a 150x95mm oval to a 120x92mm oval. Every other entry is the same as in the June 2026 v1.0 guide.
How to use the base size finder
- Type part of a unit name (for example boyz, captain or carnifex). Every word you type must match.
- Narrow it down with the Faction and Base type menus.
- Press Copy shown list to paste the sizes into an army list, a shopping note or a Discord message.
- The address bar keeps your search, so you can bookmark or share a filtered list.
What changed in the October 2026 base size update
Games Workshop's Event Companion version 1.3 (dated October 2026) lists one change under "What's new": "Base Size Guide: Wazbom Blastajet updated." We compared all 1,083 rows of the v1.3 Base Size Guide with v1.0 from June 2026. That is the only base size that changed.
| Unit | Faction | v1.0 (June 2026) | v1.3 (October 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Wazbom Blastajet | Orks | 150x95mm oval | 120x92mm oval |
The Blastajet now matches the other Ork flyers: the Dakkajet, Burna-bommer and Blitza-bommer are all on 120x92mm ovals. Some older base size lists still show 150x95mm for it.
How to read the base sizes
| What the finder shows | What it means |
|---|---|
| 25mm, 32mm, 40mm … | Round base, diameter in millimetres. |
| 120x92mm oval | Oval base, length x width in millimetres. |
| Small / Large Flying Base | The Citadel flying base listed for that model, as named in the guide. |
| Hull | The model has no base in the guide; it is played on its hull (most tanks and transports). |
| Unique | Too large for any standard Citadel base. Agree the base with your event organiser. |
Games Workshop notes that this list "is not a requirement for all games of Warhammer 40,000". It exists to avoid uncertainty in matched play. Events usually expect it, so check your event pack.
Only four entries are Unique: the Thunderhawk Gunship (Space Marines) and Grey Knights Thunderhawk Gunship, the Manta (T'au Empire) and the Harridan (Tyranids). All four are Imperial Armour models.
