ArtCraft MCP Config Generator

Generate copy-ready MCP configs for ArtCraft Crafting Apps (PhotoCraft, PdfCraft, WordCraft, GridCraft and more). Pick apps, client and sandbox folders — Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor.

ArtCraft’s Crafting Apps each ship an MCP server through their CLI. Flags below match the official storytold GitHub READMEs (checked 15 Oct 2026). Alpha software — re-check the README before production.

Download apps and CLIs only from getartcraft.com or github.com/storytold. Do not use look-alike domains.

Config is built in your browser from the paths you type. Nothing is uploaded and we do not talk to ArtCraft servers.

This page is a free ArtCraft MCP config generator for Storyteller’s Crafting Apps: pick PhotoCraft, PdfCraft, WordCraft, GridCraft (and other apps), choose Claude Code or Claude Desktop / Cursor, set sandbox folders, and copy a ready claude mcp add … command or mcpServers JSON. Each app’s CLI starts an opt-in MCP server (for example photocraft-cli mcp, pdfcraft-cli mcp --root PATH). Flags were re-checked against the official storytold GitHub READMEs on 15 Oct 2026. Download only from getartcraft.com or github.com/storytold.

What ArtCraft MCP is

ArtCraft (Storyteller / storytold) ships a family of open-source “Crafting Apps”. Each app’s CLI can start an MCP (Model Context Protocol) server so agents like Claude Code, Claude Desktop or Cursor can drive the same engine as the UI — headless, or bridged to a running window.

This page is a config generator: pick apps, client and sandbox folders, then copy a ready claude mcp add … line or an mcpServers JSON block. It does not install the apps for you.

How to use this generator

  1. Install the Crafting App CLI from getartcraft.com or the matching storytold release (put the *-cli binary on your PATH).
  2. Pick Claude Code (shell commands) or Claude Desktop / Cursor (JSON mcpServers).
  3. Tick the apps you need. For PdfCraft, set a read / sandbox root — the README requires --root to confine file access.
  4. Optional: bridge ports (WordCraft 7981, GridCraft 7979, etc.) when you want the agent to drive the open window.
  5. Copy the config into Claude Code, Claude Desktop’s config, or Cursor’s MCP settings.

What you need first

  1. Install the Crafting App (or at least its *-cli binary) from getartcraft.com or the matching storytold GitHub release.
  2. Put the CLI on your PATH (photocraft-cli, pdfcraft-cli, …).
  3. Use the generator above, then paste into Claude Code, Claude Desktop, or Cursor.

Why sandbox roots matter

PdfCraft’s README is explicit: the MCP server is opt-in, talks over stdio only (no network port), and --root confines every file the agent can read or write. PhotoCraft documents --automation-read-root / --automation-write-root the same way. Prefer a project folder you are happy for the agent to touch.

Look-alike warning

Search results sometimes surface unofficial domains that mimic ArtCraft or PhotoCraft. This site only links getartcraft.com and github.com/storytold/… — never third-party “guide” or clone hosts.

Frequently asked questions

What is ArtCraft MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) support built into ArtCraft Crafting App CLIs. An agent can call the same command engine as the desktop UI — headless, or bridged to a running window — after you add the CLI as an MCP server.

How do I enable PhotoCraft MCP?

Run photocraft-cli mcp (optionally with --automation-read-root and --automation-write-root). Add it with Claude Code via claude mcp add, or put it under mcpServers in Claude Desktop / Cursor. See the generator on this page.

Is PdfCraft MCP safe / does it open a port?

Official docs say PdfCraft never starts MCP on its own, opens no network port, and speaks stdin/stdout only while the agent runs pdfcraft-cli mcp. Use --root to confine files.

Where should I download ArtCraft apps?

Only from getartcraft.com or official github.com/storytold releases. Avoid look-alike domains.

Does this generator install the apps?

No. It only builds the MCP config text in your browser. You still install the CLI yourself.
